DOCUMENT REF: FL-LBL-101-M
PROTOCOL 01-C: THE DOCTRINE OF ABSOLUTE IDENTIFICATION
1.0 The Mandate of Visual Indexing
At Fatmin Labs, we believe that ambiguity is the precursor to side-fumbling. The Labeling Protocol exists to ensure that every physical object within the facility is visually indexed. Redundancy is not waste; redundancy is clarity. Clarification eliminates the cognitive load that leads to work stoppages.
2.0 The Self-Referential Standard
To maintain the integrity of the labeling system, the primary Labeling Interface (Unit LBL-0) must itself be indexed. Failure to label the label maker as "LBL-0" creates a recursive logic gap in the facility's documentation standards. If an object exists, it must be named. If it is named, the name must be affixed to the object. If there is no name, there is no object.
3.0 Numerical Sequencing and Commissioning
All secondary and tertiary labeling devices shall be indexed using Arabic numerals starting at 0.
-
Indexing: New units shall be commissioned as LBL-1, LBL-2... LBL-n.
-
The Adherence Gap Protocol: Upon the decommissioning or retirement of any unit, a Global Index Shift is triggered. All remaining units must be re-labeled and re-indexed to fill the numerical void. There shall be no gaps in the integer sequence.
4.0 Custodial Security & The Maintenance Cradle
All LBL devices are considered Level-1 Critical Infrastructure.
-
Storage: Devices must be stored within shielded, secure maintenance cradles when not in active use.
-
Checkout: Every deployment must be logged via the Centralized Asset Ledger.
-
Interlock System: The laboratory and premises are subject to an Inertial Lock-Down. Individual key cards will remain deactivated and egress/ingress points will remain sealed until the LBL device has been physically docked and verified within its maintenance cradle. A missing label is a breach of facility reality.
PROTOCOL 01-C: ADDENDUM A (FORMATTING & TOPOGRAPHY)
5.0 The Topographic Standard (LBL-TS)
To ensure maximum optical readability and systemic uniformity, all labels generated by any LBL-n unit must adhere to the following geometric constraints:
-
Dimensionality: Standard tape width shall be precisely 12mm.
-
Margins: A fixed 5mm lead-in and 5mm lead-out buffer must be maintained. Asymmetry in margin distribution is considered a Tier-1 aesthetic violation.
-
Typography: Text shall be rendered in 9pt Sans-Serif High-Contrast Black.
6.0 Orthographic Syntax & Delimiters
The structural integrity of facility nomenclature depends on the elimination of non-sanctioned characters.
-
The Dash Mandate: Only the Hyphen-Minus (ASCII 45) is permitted for word separation.
-
Underscore Prohibition: Use of the underscore (
_) is strictly forbidden. The underscore is viewed as a "lazy link" that creates visual drag on the label surface. -
The Case Protocol:
- CamelCase: Strictly prohibited. Intermittent capitalization is an affront to the horizontal plane.
-
AlpacaCase: While standard usage is not encouraged, AlpacaCase Deviation Requests (Form ADR-01) may be submitted for review. These must include a 500-word justification explaining why the "hump" of a camel is inferior to the "long-neck" verticality of the Alpaca for the specific use-case.
